Belonging
Every participant should feel that the event was made with them in mind.
Why we exist
The United Games was created to give pupils with SEND the scale, excitement and recognition of a major sporting occasion—while keeping the experience personal, supportive and genuinely inclusive.
Many children and young people with SEND do not get enough chances to represent their school, compete alongside peers or experience the atmosphere of a large sporting event. The United Games helps close that gap.
We bring schools together through standalone events in different parts of the UK and at different points in the school year. Some programmes are one unforgettable day. Others, such as our football leagues, create a regular rhythm of fixtures, teamwork and progress.
The United Games is run on a non-profit basis. Schools pay to participate, but those costs are not taken as profit: they are reinvested directly into delivering and improving the events for children and young people.
That means participation income helps us secure quality venues, provide suitable equipment, create medals and certificates, support event staffing and technology, and develop future opportunities in more sports and more parts of the UK.
We work with professional clubs, athletes, coaches and quality venues to make each occasion feel special. Those partnerships can bring expertise, inspiration and a sense that pupils have stepped onto a bigger stage.
But the child remains at the centre. Formats are planned with accessibility, confidence and different ability levels in mind. We value sporting achievement while recognising that determination, kindness, courage and progress can be just as meaningful.
Every participant should feel that the event was made with them in mind.
High expectations, big occasions and room for every child to surprise themselves.
Every child receives a medal and certificate, with individual awards across the day.
Every participation cost goes back into making pupil experiences even stronger.
We support both phases because the need for meaningful sport does not stop at a particular age. Event formats, communication and the overall experience can be shaped to suit the participating group, with schools helping us understand the children and young people attending.
